Charles Ebikeme is a writer and academic interested in liberating ideas.

First generation, good immigrant. Non-prominent and non-influential Afropean scientist, writer, artist, and activist who sought refuge in Paris during the early 21st century.

London-born Nigerian interested in the intersection of many different things.

I have worked for many years across policy, advocacy, science, and society.

I am currently based in London with a network of global collaborators and partners.

Charles has a background spanning infectious disease research, science policy, sustainable development, health policy and journalism having worked for international organisations in the UK and abroad. Charles currently works as an independent consultant and science journalist – working with organisations on global health research and analysis. His writing has been published in outlets such as The Guardian, Nature News, Devex, British Medical Journal, Scientific American, and The Continent among others. As a policy professional he has managed global scientific programmes at the International Science Council, as well as led policy and engagement for the African Health Observatory at the London School of Economics. He is currently a Teaching Fellow at Imperial College London delivering a module on Global Justice for the MSc in Science Communication. He is a member of the Advisory Committee on public health emergencies for the European Commission.
